I spent a couple of wonderful hours photographing the ducks and grebes on a local pond. Amazingly, I have driven past this location for years and not even known it was there. It is literally on my doorstep - and one of the best places I've ever seen for getting close to Great Crested Grebes. Being able to get right down to the same level as the water really makes for some lovely reflections and better compositions all round.

Jackdaw against Malham Cove backdrop
This was photographed today on my Yorkshire Birds Photography Workshop at Malham. The Jackdaws are very tame, so with a little food they were persuaded to a photogenic spot, providing good opportunities as they flew in.

How many swallows.?!
At around 6.30am I witnessed a true spectacle. There was barely a space between these swallows... so packed in.
Wren Singing
A wonderful opportunity at Fairburn Ings. This wren returned to the same song post three times, allowing me to frame up and shoot.
Wild long eared Owl chick
I came across a pair of long eared owl chicks in a hedgerow. As I walked around this little chap, his body stayed still whilst his head followed my every move!
